Daylin Ackerman
Principal
Daylin Ackerman is a Principal at Flying Horse Investments (FHI), where he assists in the sourcing and evaluation of investment opportunities. He is a founding partner of FHI and sits on the firm’s Investment Committee.
Daylin also serves as a Senior Vice President at Pegasus Investments, where he is responsible for business development and supporting the investment sales and advisory business. Prior to joining Pegasus in 2015, Daylin was an Analyst for JRK Property Holdings, a large owner of multifamily and hotel properties across the country. While at JRK, Daylin was responsible for the day-to-day asset management, financial analysis, and monthly reporting for a portfolio of multifamily properties.
Before JRK, Daylin was the Manager of Business Development for PennyMac Financial Services, Inc. (NYSE: PFSI), a publicly traded non-bank mortgage company focusing on the origination and servicing of residential mortgage assets. He was responsible for acquiring mortgage servicing assets on behalf of the firm and its managed publicly traded real estate investment trust, PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (NYSE: PMT). Daylin also managed the firm’s acquisition and financing of mortgage servicing assets from conduit clients through the development and establishment of structured financial transactions between the two public companies. In addition, Daylin assisted with raising a private equity fund to invest in distressed whole loans and with the company’s $250 million initial public offering (IPO) in 2013.
While in college, Daylin was an Analyst at Citi-Smith Barney and One Capital Management, where he was responsible for equity research of publicly traded REITs and the rebalancing and management of high-net-worth client accounts.
Daylin received a B.S. in Business Administration, with a focus on Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies, from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California in 2009.
